Covid-19 Update 2

Many things have changed since we last posted an update. When we last checked in we indicated that we planned on opening as usual barring any new developments and there have obviously been several!
The Covid-19 virus has continued its progress and the government has issued more guidelines for gathering sizes. At this point we are a month and a half from our usual opening day. We will of course be following the directions of local, provincial and federal agencies but at this point we can’t predict what those will be at that time.
Our friends at the Annapolis Royal Winter Farmer’s Market have shifted operations to follow all of the new rules which include reducing the number of vendors, moving the market to the parking lot, requiring pre-orders and designating specific pickup times for customers. If you are in need of supplies and would like to support our local food producers you can read all about how to place orders and how they are ensuring customer and vendor safety on their website: https://annapolisroyalwinterfarmersmarket.wordpress.com/
Some have asked what our market will look like on opening day and we cannot definitively answer that question now. We are developing several contingency plans and as always, keeping an eye on the daily updates from officials.
We know our market is a hub for our community. You rely on your local producers to feed your family and we take that responsibility seriously. Our vendors are busy getting their crops ready and welcoming new animals on their farms and we’ll be here to support them in getting their goods to you. It may not be the usual social event right away, but we’ll get through together. The uncertain season has given us a chance to stop and think about the wonderful thing we all come together to create during the summer. We are so thankful to our customers, the town of Annapolis Royal, our entertainers and vendors for being part of the Annapolis Royal Farmers & Traders Market.
We’ll have more updates as things continue to progress. Thank you for your patience and we hope you, your family and friends stay healthy.
